Reminds me of someone else who was 33 and in pain. Although he too had sad eyes and felt very much alone, he did not have a brain tumor. He had a crown of thorns.

Meaning is everywhere we look for it.

Hope the pain goes away. Sorry, but I have to laugh. As we all do when we're typing our diaries, on or off medication, you left one letter out of a word. You wrote numbness as nubness. Read out loud just as it is written, it sounds as if it's being spoken by someone whose mouth is numb from dental pain medication.

i am having issues with my wisdom teeth, and go to the dentist next week to see if they have to come out.

We dont always get to sit in the seat we want in life. And most people in his seat would have gladly got up and let you have it. I think we should just be thankful for the great seat that we are in, and pray for those in broken chairs.

Cute nicknames! My mom's family had all kinds of weird nicknames each other! (Tats, Bubs, Mofo, etc!!!) Most of them don't even have meanings!  I do call the little boy down the street "PooperDot"!:)

I'm glad your mom is doing relatively well.  My dad went through radiation too.  I don't recall the side effects, but it's a tough thing to go thru - for your mom and you too.

Wow - they make up snow days on Saturdays??!!! That's horrible!  I teach and would HATE to go to work on a Saturday!  We don't have built in snow days, so ours get added to the end of our year - which is a joke because they just end up being party days.

We haven't gotten enough rain for flooding in the Portland area.  You guys got so much snow it is probably jamming the culverts.  Is it mostly gone now?

Jealous, I cant draw at all.  I took art in 7th grade, the first day the teacher said my stick people needed handicapped parking and I switched classes the next day! :)

You could actually do something more for your daughter instead of relying on her memory to keep your family's history alive.  You could make her a family tree.  There's a website called ancestry.com and they help you find long lost relatives.  I've gone back to the 1700's with my family (which I never thought possible).  Once I've gone back as far as I can, I'm going to request that the website send me a book with what I've made.  The site is free, but if you want a book, there is a fee.

It's worth it.  I actually found a great-great aunt who I never knew I had.  We still keep in touch to this day.  She's still sending me old pictures of her old hometown and telling me about my family members who have passed.

Sorry to hear about Johns predicament. My job too, seems to be at risk. I work in the building products industry as well. We have had 80 people laid off(of about 300) in the last 8 months. Our company lost $2 million last month alone, and since this is the best time of the year for the housing industry, then none of us are too optimistic about what the next 6 months  and winter will bring.

 I personally doubt that my job will last much past this month. And most of the guys in the plant where I work feel the same. I wish John good luck, and hope things change for him as well as for me.

 As for you... Just try to stay strong, and know that John is doing his best. Change is just a part of life. Those who adapt to lifes challanges will thrive. Or as my brother always says...What don't kill you, Makes you stronger!
